ICJ judgement on Kulbhushan and sad state of Indian Media

Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Ex-Navy officer, was arrested on March 3 2016 by pakistani officials on the grounds of carrying espionage, terrorism and spying for indian intelligence authorities. Pakistan allegedly states that he was arrested from Balochistan and is a member of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) operating for India. These claims are however proven wrong by India which states that Jadhav was originally arrested from Iran where he was staying after retiring from the Navy.

Pakistan sorted death penalty for Kulbhushan but later on India raised this issue to International Court of Justice and criticized and accused Pakistan of violating ” Vienna Convention on Consular Relations”. Finally on 16th July 2019 the judgement was delivered by ICJ to put stay on the execution of Mr. Kulbhushan Yadav.

“Pakistan shall take all measures at its disposal to ensure that Mr. Jadhav is not executed pending the final decision in these proceedings and shall inform the Court of all the measures taken in implementation of the present Order.”

Surprisingly, the Indian English media standards have so drastically gone down that Pakistan used all the blatant lies posted in their articles at ICJ to build a case against India. Following are some of the clippings taken from Indian media houses like The Indian Express, The Quint and Frontline.

Anti-India newspaper The Quint and the authors like Karan Thapar, Praveen Swami and Chandan Nandy have been indulged in passing controversial claims time and again we have seen it during the ICJ case.
